Introduction

Occasionally, rebooting your server can be useful for installations or major configuration changes; however, it is not recommended that server reboot be performed frequently, as this can cause more harm than good.

Here are the methods to reboot your Cloud VPS or Pure Performance VPS. First method would be to reboot your server from within the OS self. Depending on which OS you are running ( Windows, Linux or some other distro) this action can differ. Yet the easiest way to do this properly is described as following:

Pre-requisites

  • Active Cloud or Pure Performance VPS

Step 1: Log in to your my.snel.com account

Step 2: Select the Cloud VPS / Pure Performance VPS

Once logged in to you snel.com account in your left sidebar click on Services and select your Cloud VPS instance you would like to reboot by clicking onto the name of the instance or the arrow on the right side.

Step 3: Initiate the reboot from client area.

After you have selected the VPS instance it is pretty easy to spot the button “Reboot” on the right side under the server details.

Now that you have clicked on the button the server will go into the reboot mode and in the dashboard you will see the server status change. Wait for the reboot to finish ( most of the time it takes couple of minutes) than click on the button refresh next to the server status. If it states “Active” it means that the server rebooted properly and that you can try to login into your server using the console and credentials provided.

In rare occasions it can happen that even after applying the reboot the server still does not work properly (not reachable, non-active or malfunctioning in some other manner) in that case you should follow the instructions from this article.
