Introduction

Managing backups effectively is essential for keeping data organized and storage efficient. In Acronis Backup Console, you can delete old backups if the data becomes outdated. Additionally, removing files from the server does not automatically remove them from the Acronis backup, thereby not affecting the current backup quota. If you have deleted data from your server and wish for it to be removed from your backups to reclaim space, the only option Acronis offers is by removing all existing backups and creating new backups.

This article will help you delete old backups from the Acronis Backup Management Console.

Prerequisites

You need to have Acronis Backup Cloud installed and in use for deleting the old backups. Related articles:

Step 1: Log in to Acronis Backup Cloud Management Console

Access the Acronis Backup Cloud Management Console at the following URL: https://baas.acronis.com/

You can find your login details in your client area.

Step 2:Deleting the Backups

Access Backup Storage:

From your backup console, select the option Backup Storage from the left side of the console.

You will see a list of your backup storage with their respective names. Click on the backup storage you wish to delete.

Delete Backups:

From here, you have two options for deleting backups. You can delete the selected backups, or you can delete the entire backup of a device.

Option 1: Delete Selected Backups

To delete backups from a specific day, week, or month, first select the desired backup.

After selecting the backup, settings will appear on the right side. Select Show Backups.

A list of all backups available for that specific account will be displayed. Select the specific backup you want to delete.

Click on the gear icon labeled Actions, then select the Delete option.

 

Option 2: Delete Complete Backup of a Device

To delete the complete backup of a device, tick the checkbox next to the backup.

After selecting the backup, settings will appear on the right side. Click the “Delete” button there.

Confirm the action to delete the entire backup of the device.

Please note that if you are deleting backups due to a quota exceeded issue, it will take some time for the changes to reflect in the backup quota. You have to wait until the next day to create a new backup.
